Meet Rosalyn Hedgepeth, CEO & Founder of Pretty Boss LLC
We're excited to introduce Rosalyn Hedgepeth, CEO & Founder of Pretty Boss LLC!

Rosalyn, tell us a little bit about your journey and how you got to where you are today.
I am Rosalyn Hedgepeth, a philanthropist, entrepreneur, and business consultant. With over six years of experience in finance at two Fortune 50 companies, I have a passion for empowering women through webinars and speaking engagements where I encourage women to increase their financial status through building their self-worth.

Did you face any challenges along the way? How did you overcome these challenges?
I have been my biggest challenge. There have been times where I didn’t think I was good enough, even though I knew I was called and my heart was pure. I would compare myself to others or be disappointed when I didn’t accomplish unrealistic goals.
This insecurity made me hide my giftings in networking scenarios where I could of benefited if I had simply believed in myself. I know I could have been further along in my purpose pursuit if I owned who I am and the work that comes along with being called earlier. I had to take time to intentionally become better – meditating, praying, working out. I also had to learn how to spend time with myself so I could analyze the source of all of these negatives thoughts. I began to negate each thought one by one.
With every level there is a new piece of me that I have made better. In this season I am working to refocus energy used on my spiritual growth and awareness.

We know you balance multiple endeavors. Now that you have successfully done so - would you recommend this for others or would you recommend putting your all into one?
I would recommend that every woman discover her purpose and then walk in it unapologetically. I didn’t choose to be this ‘extra’. Every business opportunity flowed naturally into the next. If you embrace who you are, your gift will make room for you. Don’t try to build an empire on quick sand. So many people try to build fast because it sounds good to say ‘mogul’ on your social media handle. But what if you are meant to be an amazing CEO of one business, and that business turns into a Fortune 500 company. That's still pretty dope!

How do you balance your schedule to ensure you meet your goals for all of your endeavors?
I have a passion for creating, working hard, and solving problems. Between my 9-5, running a non-profit, singing at my church, makeup gigs, speaking engagements and other side hustles, it’s no secret that my schedule is full. With Jesus and a little coffee ALL things are possible! I’ve learned to surround myself with friends that not only understand my busy schedule but support my endeavors. They understand that I am not able to talk on the phone or meet up for lunch every day. I also schedule EVERYTHING….social, business, spiritual it’s on my calendar!

Have you always had this "limitless" mindset? If not, how did you create this mindset?
My mindset came from my parents. They taught me that I could be whatever I wanted to be as long as I matched my faith with my work. Sometimes have been harder than others, but leaning on what they taught me helped me realize that I can overcome any obstacle and the sky is truly the limit.

What is the best memory surrounding your career or business thus far?
My nonprofit, Project We Care Inc., has been able to do amazing work from renovating a school to feeding 1,000+ individuals who are homeless. We’ve been funded by major Fortune 500 companies such as GE, UPS, and Comcast, however, we didn’t start off with Fortune 500 companies throwing money our way. With all of this success my best memory was during our first empowerment event for young women. There were no professional photographers or videographers. We didn’t have any major sponsors. There were only 25 girls, however in this moment I knew that I was exactly where I was supposed to be. I was at peace. This moment was my purpose awakening. I understood that I called to pour into women of all ages.

What have you been focusing on lately?
We recently launched The Pretty Boss Collection. The Pretty Boss is a beauty and lifestyle brand that propels women to their highest potential by giving them the tools needed to identify and achieve their purpose. The Pretty Boss Collection features high quality yet affordable makeup and lifestyle products for the everyday woman.

Do you have any quotes or sayings that you live by? What are they?
My favorite scripture is Matthew 6:33 “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” I love this scripture because I feel like God gave us the secret to success—the keys to obtaining everything that you want, It’s in Him and the lifestyle choices that we make.
